Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Kingdom has successfully hosted its first Cambridge Tech Lead Bootcamp (CTLB), a milestone youth leadership initiative by A Learning Lab, the regional platform for teen career exploration. This intensive program aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, equipping young leaders with the skills and mindset to thrive in the era of digital transformation.
Empowering Future Leaders with Global Expertise
The four-day Cambridge Tech Lead Bootcamp was led by graduates from the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, providing high school students with international insights and practical skills. Participants explored key aspects of modern leadership, including:
-
Data-driven decision-making
-
Agile methodologies
-
Integration of artificial intelligence in strategic planning
The Bootcamp culminated in a personal leadership project, where student teams designed tech-enabled solutions aimed at supporting Saudi Vision 2030 initiatives and real government applications.
Students Innovate Ethical Tech for Public Spaces
The winning project came from a team of four students: Talal AlZuhairi, Fahad Abunayyan, Muath Alqahtani, and Hamza Alofai. Their proposal, “Using Tech to Enhance Public Space (Ethically)”, focused on leveraging Artificial Narrow Intelligence to make public areas more interactive and engaging, without using generative AI due to ethical considerations.
AlZuhairi explained, “We wanted our project to align with the Kingdom’s progress and ensure ethical AI use. Our concept supports the government’s ongoing vision to improve the quality of public spaces.”
Students also engaged in debate sessions, enhancing critical thinking and communication skills. AlZuhairi noted that the experience of debating AI topics under pressure was transformative in understanding decision-making and leadership dynamics.
For teammate Alqahtani, the bootcamp was a key step toward future leadership goals. He shared, “I improved my communication skills and confidence, especially through active listening exercises. The program helped me analyze the strengths and weaknesses of global leaders, which was truly inspiring.”
