EPCA Elects New Leadership and Expands Capital to Advance Environmental Goals.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – August 27, 2024:
The Environmental Projects Cooperative Association (EPCA) has taken bold steps to accelerate its sustainability agenda during its Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly meetings held on Tuesday. Major announcements included leadership changes and a significant capital increase to support environmental initiatives across the Kingdom.

New Board Elected for Four-Year Term:

The sessions were attended by representatives from the Ministry of Human Resources and Mr. Hashim Al-Hamed, Chairman of the Board of Associations. One of the key decisions included the discharge of the founding council, whose term had ended.

A new eleven-member board was elected to serve for the next four years. Major General Dr. Mohammed bin Mustafa Al-Juhani was appointed Chairman of the Board. Engineer Omar Matbouli was elected Vice President, while Engineer Abdulhakim Sahab assumed the role of Financial Supervisor.

  • Mr. Firas Al-Aseilan

  • Prof. Sayed Fathi Al-Khouli

Strategic Capital Increase:

The association’s capital was officially increased to SAR 10 million, with contributions now open to the public. This capital boost is expected to support upcoming green and sustainable development projects in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

Key Partnerships and Environmental Projects:

EPCA, composed of 56 members specializing in energy, water, agriculture, and environmental health, recently signed major agreements to expand its green initiatives. One key deal involves collaboration with a businessman from the Tabuk region and an international company to build a large-scale nursery for seedling production. This project is in support of the Crown Prince’s green cover initiative.

Additionally, two agreements were signed with a global firm to use nano and microbubble technology for the purification of wastewater and dams.

Leadership for the Next Phase:

To lead this new phase, Dr. Faisal Hamza Abu Radeef Al-Nazawi has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). His experience in administration and operations is expected to help activate the association’s strategic roadmap and deliver community-based environmental programs, including support for productive families.

With expanded leadership, increased funding, and new strategic partnerships, EPCA is poised to play a vital role in achieving Saudi Arabia’s environmental and sustainability goals. The initiatives mark a significant move toward a greener and more self-sustaining future for the Kingdom.
