Pakistan Welfare Society (PWS) hosts Aftaar and dinar in honour of Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman CEO of Pakistan Kidney Centre (PKC) Abbottabad.

Jeddah – (Syed Mussarat Khalil) Pakistan Welfare Society (PWS) hosted an Iftaar and Dinner at Lasani Restaurant Jeddah in honour of Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman, CEO of Pakistan Kidney Center (PKC). It was attended by Saudi and Pakistani doctors, engineers, business executives, leading community and PWS members.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Syed Shahabuddin, a senior member of PWS and a well-known social activist. Naat-e-Rasool Maqbool, recited by famous Naat Khawan and PWS Secretary of press and publication, Muhammad Nawaz Janjua in their beautiful voice.

Well-known moderator Anwar Anjam delivered a welcome address and a brief introduction of chief guest Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman. He said Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman has devoted his life to the project of PKC. We pray to Allah Almighty to grant us the same passion, dedication and love for humanity as Dr Khalil has. The easiest way to gain the pleasure of Allah and His Messenger is to serve humanity, he added.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman, who is also a Kidney Specialist, said that the foundation stone of the Pakistan Kidney Center (PKC) was laid by Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, a Pakistani nuclear scientist in December 2012 and he remained with the project till the end. The construction was completed within two years. It is located on 11,000 square feet of land on the main Karakoram Highway, five kilometres south of Abbottabad in northern Pakistan. Patients from far areas also come to the centre for treatment and Dialysis.

He also started mobile service in 2016 and laser treatment. Doctors also come to the centre from Islamabad to treat kidney patients. He said that when the 50-bed hospital is completed, a training program for para-medical staff will also begin. In response to a question from Saudi doctor, Dr Abdul Rehman Khalil, he said we will try to provide Pediatrician dialysis and treatment facility also in the centre.

During the function, Dr Khalil-ur-Rehman also gave a presentation about the PKC on laptops and invited the participants to visit the centre whenever they come to Pakistan.

Dr Khalil is here to perform Umrah and visit Prophet (PBHM) Mosque Madinah.
