Riyadh Season 2024: A Celebration of Global Cultures

By Javeria Asad Riyadh – The much-anticipated Riyadh Season 2024 has kicked off in Saudi Arabia’s capital, bringing together a spectacular showcase of global cultures. From the opening moments, the festival has captivated audiences with a series of themed cultural weeks representing countries such as Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. Renowned performers from nine different countries are taking part, while millions of international visitors are relishing the opportunity to experience a vibrant tapestry of cultural diversity.

One of the most exciting highlights so far has been Indian Week, celebrated from October 13 to October 21. As part of the festivities, famed Indian singer, music composer, and playback artist Himesh Reshammiya delivered an electrifying performance at Suwaidi Park. His concert was a major event during Indian Week, drawing thousands of enthusiastic fans who sang and danced along to his hit songs. The celebration also saw a special appearance by former Indian cricketer Sreesanth, who was warmly welcomed by his admirers. In an interaction with the audience, Sreesanth shared that he has always been met with immense love and respect whenever he visits Pakistan.

Looking ahead, the festivities will continue with Pakistani Cultural Week, which is set to begin on October 30. The lineup promises to dazzle, with performances from popular singer Asim Azhar and appearances by cricket stars Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shoaib Malik. A range of programs celebrating Pakistani heritage and culture will be presented, further enriching the festival’s cultural offering.

All events at Suwaidi Park are free of charge, making the Riyadh Season a truly inclusive celebration where attendees from across the globe can enjoy the diverse traditions on display. Both Saudi citizens and international visitors have expressed their delight with the quality and beauty of the performances, applauding King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their dedication to fostering cultural exchange and world-class entertainment.
