The match, held at Bangkok’s Terdthai Cricket Ground, was a rollercoaster of emotions for both teams and fans.

Bhutan won the toss and elected to bat first, starting strongly against Saudi Arabia’s bowlers. Despite early success, with Ahmed Faisal taking the opening wicket, Bhutan’s Tenzin Rabgay and Ronak Pradhan built a solid partnership. However, Saudi Arabia fought back, with Taha Vaseem shining with the ball, taking four wickets for 27 runs. Bhutan managed to post a total of 178 all out after 47 overs.

However, Mohammad Zuber and Mohammad Rehan steadied the ship, with Faisal playing a crucial role, scoring 22 runs off 62 deliveries. Saudi Arabia found themselves in a challenging position, needing 54 runs for victory with just two wickets in hand.

Faisal, named player of the match, led Saudi Arabia to a thrilling victory, hitting a boundary with just four balls remaining. This win keeps Saudi Arabia’s hopes of progression alive, with a must-win match against Hong Kong on Friday to secure a semi-final place.

Meanwhile, Oman confirmed their spot in the semi-finals in Group B with a 53-run victory over Hong Kong at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground.
