“Tourism relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia were discussed”

Chairman of the State Tourism Agency (STA) Fuad Nagiyev met with Malaysian Minister of Culture, Arts and Tourism Hajah Nancy Shukri as part of the 11th Conference of Ministers of Tourism of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Baku on June 28.

Noting the importance of the Asian tourism market for Azerbaijan, Fuad Nagiyev said the State Tourism Agency closely cooperates with Asian countries in this direction. The chairman of the agency said that Azerbaijan was also interested in cooperation with Malaysia in the field of tourism and was ready to take an active part in organizing mutual info-tours and tourist trips.

During his speech, Fuad Nagiyev noted that cultural days dedicated to Malaysia were organized during the IV Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017, and this event caused great interest in the capital Baku.

Touching upon the importance of organizing direct flights between Azerbaijan and Malaysia, Malaysian Minister of Culture, Arts and Tourism Hajah Nancy Shukri said Malaysia was interested in developing tourism ties with Azerbaijan and was ready to cooperate in increasing the flow of tourists and conduct joint tours.
