Commerce Minister Jan Kamal Discusses Trade Progress Between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Noorulhassan Gujjar JEDDAH:
During a press conference in Jeddah, Pakistan’s Commerce Minister, Jan Kamal, emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia as a key trade partner for Pakistan. He stated that Pakistan should have engaged with Saudi Arabia much earlier and highlighted the productive discussions with senior officials from the Saudi Ministry of Commerce and the Jeddah Chamber.

Kamal pointed out that the primary goal of recent efforts is to connect Pakistani and Saudi traders, fostering mutual trade opportunities. He mentioned that the event, a single-country exhibition, featured products from all regions of Pakistan, with active participation from both Pakistani and Saudi business leaders. This, he said, was a positive step for Pakistan’s branding.

The Commerce Minister also revealed that new trade agreements are expected from the event, with 27 to 28 agreements already signed with Saudi traders, valued at around 2.8 billion rupees.

Responding to a question about Albaik, Kamal confirmed that agreements have been finalized for the launch of Albaik in Pakistan. He shared that Albaik would not only open restaurants in the country but also engage in chicken farming, breeding, and other related activities, creating local employment opportunities.

This exhibition marks an important milestone in Pakistan’s trade relations with Saudi Arabia, and its positive impact is expected to be felt in the near future.
