MORNING PRIME GROUP:
1. Al Saudi XI was put in to bat first after the opponent AEC won the toss, Al Saudi XI managed to get to 167 for 7 in the allotted 20 overs. Mazhar Abbasi top-scored with 83 in 51 balls with 2 sixes and 6 fours while Kashif Shafeeq hit 32 in 16 balls with 7 fours, Nadeem 13 and Nazeer 10. Yasir and Awais took 2 scalps each.
AEC in chase kept the nerves under control to get over the target hurdle of 168 for 8 in 119 balls to win the match and with that a place in the last four in the Morning prime Group. AEC won by 2 wkts on the second last ball.
AEC started the chase disastrously with 2 wkts with nothing on the Board as opener Imtoyaz Shaikh departed on the first ball followed by one down Abdulrehman on the 3rd ball of the first over of Nadeem and this disaster was followed by 2 more wkts in the 3rd over and Nadeem’s 2nd to reduce AEC to 4 down for 32 at the end of the 3rd over.
But then Amanat Ali kept his cool to hit 28 in 10 balls with 3 fours and a six, Muzammil 27 in 13 balls with 2 sixes and a four, and Waqas unbeaten 29 in 16 balls and Awais 25 in 24 balls with 4 fours as Hassan Mughal made 19. Nadeem was the most successful bowler with 4 wkts for 24 and Mazhar Abbasi 2.
2. Arcoma against Sadafco choosing to bat first got to 160 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. Hidayat scored the highest unbeaten 73 in 48 balls with 2 sixes and 9 fours as Shahed made 28 and Yusuf 19.
Ibrahim took 3 wkts for 21. Sadafco in chase achieved the winning target of 163 for 3 in 94 balls to win by 7 wkts with 26 balls to remain. Ahmed Mugheri remained hit 8 fours and a six to compile an unbeaten 58 in 32 balls as he first added 59 in 32 balls for the 2nd wkt with Waqar Malik who made 40 in 22 balls with 6 fours and then 60 in 40 balls for the 3rd wkt with Mohammed Asim who made 34 in 28 balls with 4 hits to the ropes.
3. Bupa XI on Ground # 5 against Young Strikers were asked to bat to smash 160 for 6 in the allotted 20 overs. Bupa XI with an impressive batting lineup lost wkts at regular intervals to be 93 for 6 in the 13th over with top batters gone without any meaningful contribution.
Shahnawaz Khan who was shaping well for his 22 in 15 balls was unfortunately dismissed in a rare dismissal of OBSTRUCTION when after playing the ball he picked up the ball to hand over to the Bowler.
Rana Adnan made 29 in 16 balls with 4 fours and a six, Sheeraz remained unbeaten on 31 off 30 balls as he added a total boosting 67 in 44 balls for the unbroken 7th wkt with Shoaib who was not out on 25 off 20 balls with 2 fours. Ummer Abbasi 13 and Qasim 12 were other contributors. Fahad and Bilal accounted for 2 scalps each.
Young Strikers in response lost a heap of wkts with 4 down for 18 in the 4th over and then 2 more by the 9th over with 42 for 6 followed by 83 for 8 and 91 all out to lose by 69 runs and with that their chances to be among the top four shattered at the end.
Ghulam Murtuza made 27 in 15 balls, Sibtain Ali 15, Tariq 12 and Andi 11. It was a totally dismal performance by a team with a lot of depth in the batting as 6 batters did not touch the double-figure. Attaurrehman, Zafar and Adnan had 2 pieces each.
4. Super Cricket Club high riding high in the Tournament suffered an unexpected defeat at the hands of Transparent Mask to be bowled out for 130 in the allotted 20 overs. TMCC then achieved the victory target of 131 for 4 in 97 balls to win by 6 wkts with 23 balls remaining.
Prolific Yasir scored 48 in 21 balls with 3 sixes and 4 fours, Sheraz 43 in 40 balls as no other batter could cross the ten-digit mark. Shahbaz, Altaf and Hassan Anjum grabbed 2 scalps each. Transparent Mask CC in a chase won by 6 wkts to get to 131 for 4. Gulam Ghouse made 36 in 25 balls with 6 fours, Mohammed Saeed 26 in 21 balls, Altaf Hussain unbeaten on 33 off 25 balls and Mehmood Tahir 12.
After this last day of pool matches the rankings in the Points Table shuffled as Bupa XI with this win climbed up to the top with 12 points, Super CC 2nd with 12, AEC on third with 12 and Apex 4th with 10 points.
