Noorulhassan Gujjar Jeddah: The Christian community celebrated Christmas with great zeal and enthusiasm at the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah. The event, organized by the Christian Welfare Society, was attended by a large number of community members, including men, women, and children. Consul General of Jeddah, Khalid Majid, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The ceremony commenced with prayers conducted according to Christian traditions, reflecting the spirit of peace and harmony. John Gulzar, President of the Christian Community, expressed his deep affection for Pakistan and Kashmir, extending gratitude to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the Government of Pakistan. He highlighted the unwavering support the Christian community has received in organizing their religious events and fostering inclusivity.
In his remarks, Consul General Khalid Majid extended warm Christmas greetings to the Christian community and emphasized the importance of interfaith harmony. “Our faith is incomplete without believing in Prophet Jesus and his teachings,” he stated, reaffirming the consulate’s commitment to supporting the community in every possible way.
Patrick Fluck Share and Pastor Francis also delivered heartfelt messages, underscoring the significance of Christmas and unity within the community. Prominent members of the Pakistani community, including Chaudhry Akram Gujjar, Chairman of Pakistan Muslim League (N); Chaudhry Tasawwur Hussain, President of Pakistan Peoples Party Saudi Arabia; Sardar Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Overseas Community; Dr. Khalid; and Mian Rizwan-ul-Haq, also addressed the gathering. They conveyed their Christmas greetings and emphasized the importance of solidarity among communities.
The event concluded with the cutting of a beautifully decorated Christmas cake, the distribution of gifts among children, and a lively performance of traditional Christmas songs, creating a festive atmosphere that resonated with the spirit of the season.
