A Cultural Tribute to National Heroes

To mark Pakistan Defence Day, a grand Mushaira (poetic evening) was held in Jeddah under the joint auspices of Kababish Arts Council Jeddah and Alami Halqa-e-Fikr-o-Fun. The event honored the sacrifices of Pakistan’s heroes and celebrated the nation’s spirit through poetry.
Renowned Pakistani poet Nadeem Bhaba was the special guest of the evening. The program brought together prominent members of the Pakistani community and dignitaries, including Irfan Chaudhry from the Pakistan Consulate Jeddah. Distinguished educationist and social personality Chaudhry Allah Ditta Warraich also attended as guest of honor.
Evening of Poetry and Patriotism
The Mushaira was conducted by Aftab Turabi, with a soulful Naat recitation by Imran Shah and a warm welcome address by Ali Khurshid Sultan.
Speakers reminded the audience that September 6 is a day of pride, symbolizing the courage of Pakistan’s martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation. They highlighted that the poetic gathering aimed to instill patriotism among the youth and strengthen national unity.
Poets Inspire the Audience
Local poets from Jeddah, including Tashfeen Syed, Faisal Tufail, and Aftab Turabi, captivated the audience with verses celebrating love for the homeland and sacrifice.
The guest poet, Nadeem Bhaba, left a lasting impression with his eloquent style. His poetry blended patriotism, intellectual depth, and lyrical finesse, receiving overwhelming applause from the audience.
Literary Legacy in Jeddah
In his presidential address, Ashfaq Badaiyuni praised the Mushaira as a memorable addition to Jeddah’s literary history. He congratulated Ali Khurshid Sultan and Aftab Turabi for their efforts in organizing the successful event. He also paid tribute to Turabi’s literary contributions and described Nadeem Bhaba’s participation as a refreshing and inspiring presence.
A Memorable Conclusion
The evening concluded with a souvenir presentation to Nadeem Bhaba, a ceremonial cake-cutting to mark Pakistan Defence Day, and a lavish dinner in honor of the guests. The program ended with a collective prayer led by Qari Abdul Basit, leaving participants with a renewed sense of patriotism and community spirit.
