Saudi authorities discuss investment, cooperation plans with Amazon, Thales Group

The meetings took place on the sidelines of the 6th edition of the Future Investment Initiative, held in Riyadh from 25 to 27 October.
Top officials of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and global e-commerce major Amazon held discussions in Riyadh on opportunities and aspects of cooperation between the two sides in the areas supervised by the Saudi food authority.

During the meeting between Dr. Hisham bin Saad Al-Jadhey, CEO of SDFA, and Ronaldo Mouchawar, vice president of Amazon’s MENA region and CEO of Souq.com, the e-commerce major also reviewed its work and future investment plans in the kingdom.

The company also presented an overview of its experience in developing operations, logistics and artificial intelligence.
Meanwhile, the President of the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi met with a delegation from the Thales Group, led by the group’s chairman and chief executive officer Patrice Caine.

The two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation and exchanged experiences in the field of data and artificial intelligence. Both meetings took place on the sidelines of the 6th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII), held in Riyadh from October 25 to 27.
