A major development took place in the Capital Premier League (CPL) as the ownership of the KPK Warriors franchise was officially transferred to Dr. Shamsher, a Saudi-based Pakistani businessman. The signing ceremony, held in Saudi Arabia, was attended by business leaders, Pakistani Executive Forum members, and media professionals.
The agreement was signed between CPL Chairman Munir Ahmed Shad and Dr. Shamsher, marking a strategic step forward for the league.
Chairman Shad highlighted CPL’s mission of uniting the Pakistani diaspora through sports.
“CPL aims to connect overseas Pakistanis with their homeland while promoting cricket and economic growth,” he said. “Our goal is to nurture talent that can progress to PSL and the national team.”
Dr. Shamsher expressed pride in joining the CPL.
“It is an honor to be part of this initiative. We will work to uncover hidden cricketing talent across Pakistan,” he stated.
Other speakers, including Engineer Aamir Khan, Hussain Badshah, and Kamran Ashraf, reaffirmed their support for the CPL’s vision.
