Shahdab’s Career Best 86 Leads to Series White Wash Against West Indies

Pakistan won the third ODI against the West Indies by 53 runs to complete the whitewash against the visitors. Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bat first. For the first time in the series, Pakistan openers provided a solid start and added 85 for the first wicket. Fakhar was the first to fall for 35 bowled by Pooran. Babar Azam fell cheaply for 1 LBW to Hayed Walsh Jr. Pakistan then had a middle-order wobble and they lost 3 more wickets very quickly to be 5 down before the 25th over.

Shadab then joined Khushdil and started the recovery. They put on 84 runs for the 6th wicket before Khushdil was bowled by Akeal H osein for 34. Shadab kept fighting and together with the tail he took Pakistan to 269/9 in their 48 overs. The match was reduced to 48 overs due to a sand storm.

Pooran was the most successful bowler for West Indies with figures of 4/48. Chasing the target West Indies kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bowled out for 216. Akeal Hosein top-scored for West Indies with 60. For Pakistan Shadab Khan took 4 wickets while Nawaz and Hasan Ali picked up 2 wickets apiece. Shadab was adjudged as player of the match while Imam was declared as player of the series.
