Trials Held at Historic Islamia College: 
The selection trials for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team in the upcoming Capital Premier League (CPL) were held at the Islamia College ground in Peshawar. Over 500 young cricketers from across the province participated, with a strong showing of fast bowlers and batters.

Renowned Test cricketer and fast bowler, Imran Khan Sr., supervised the trials. His presence brought motivation and expert guidance to the aspiring players.

A Platform for Emerging Talent: 
The CPL, set to begin after Ramadan, will feature eight teams representing all regions of Pakistan. These include: Islamabad Royals, Punjab Premiers, Sindh Strikers, KP Warriors, Kashmir Stars, GB Thunders, Overseas Pakistanis Ambassadors

Notably, players from Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, and the overseas community were also present in the Peshawar trials.

Leaders Emphasize Opportunity and Growth:
Imran Khan Sr. highlighted the importance of the CPL in nurturing new talent.
“Leagues like the CPL allow new players to showcase their abilities. It’s a great platform for growth,” he said.

CPL President Chaudhry Arshad Bega praised the energy of Peshawar’s players.
“Peshawar is rich in cricketing talent. With the right support, these players can go far,” he noted.

He also hinted at future plans to bring CPL matches to the city.
“We are working to host matches in Peshawar, so locals can enjoy the action live,” Bega added.

The trials marked a major step in promoting cricket across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Young players were given a chance to be seen, evaluated, and potentially selected for a national-level stage.
