JEDDAH: WPCA organized 7 matches in the Phase 3 Week 4 Morning Session matches with some interesting results as Pak Shaheen had the last laugh against Warraich Gujarat XI by 20 runs in a low-scoring match, Sialkot Shaheen did not allow rejuvenated Landmark Arabia to prevail, Cascade Group under the able leadership of Irfan Ayazuddin continued their winning march in Phase 3 against AWCC, Thales Group dominated Super Cc adventure, AEC went down to young Strikers, Bupa CC was too strong for Markhour XI where as Black Hawks defeated Al Saudi XI by 3 wkts. Overall the Batters and Bowlers shared the honours with Yasir of Pak Shaheen bowled well for his 4 wkts with a Hat trick while Ashfaq of Thales also took 4 wkts.
MORNING SESSION:
Match # 22: Pak Shaheen opting to bat first against Warraich Gujarat XI managed 124 for 9 in allotted 18 overs on ground # 1. Hassan made 42 in 20 balls with 6 hits to the ropes, Rizwan 15, Ahmed and Kamran 13 each and Mushair 10. Faheem claimed 3 for 13 while M. Rashid and Rafique had 2 each.
Warraich Gujarat XI in reply was crushed for 104 to lose by 20 runs as Yasir grabbed the Hatrick in his 2nd over with wkts in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th ball. Nasir stroked 21, Ilyas 17 and Muzammil 16. Yasir was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wkts for 15 along with the Hat trick and Awais 3 for 21.
Match # 23: Sialkot Shaheen deciding to bat first against landmark Arabia plundered 172 for 8 in allotted 18 overs. Rao Aslam top scored with 66 in 42 balls studded with 4 fours and 2 sixes as he first added 63 runs in 52 balls for the 2nd wkt with Shehzad who made 31 in 27 balls and then 59 in 24 balls for the 4th wkt with Nazim who scored 24 in 14 balls with 2 fours. Tehseen made 18 and Shafiq 12. Sarfaraz and Muassim grabbed 2 wkts each.
Landmark Arabia in response could make 130 for 9 in stipulated 18 overs to lose by 42 runs. Faizan remained unbeaten on 49 off 31 balls with 3 sixes, Urooj and Afreed 16 each and Ashish 14. Waseem scalped 3 for 30 and Nazim 3 for 26.
Match # 24: AWCC opting to bat first against Cascade Group could get to 162 for 7 in the allotted 18 overs on Ground # 5. Qasim hit 42 in 39 balls with 5 boundaries, Asif 17, Naveed 26 and Tauqeer unbeaten 49 in 22 balls with 3 sixes and 3 fours. Mohammed Sunasra took 2 wkts.
Cascade Group in chase reached the winning target of 165 for 3 in 104 balls to win by 7 wkts with 4 balls to spare. Irfan Ayazuddin hammered a match-winning 84 in 38 balls studded with 2 sixes and 10 fours as he added 133 in 87 balls for the 2nd wkt with Adil Deshmukh who made 41 in 42 balls with 3 fours to win after Yakhoub (14) departed early at 19 for 1. Sajjad made 10 not out.
Match # 25: Thales Group won the toss to bat first against super Cc to amass 171 for 6 in allotted 18 overs on ground # 6. Shani top-scored with 63 in 42 balls as he added 75 in 41 balls for the 2nd wkt with Taqiurrehman who made 39 in 26 balls. Tanveer made 15. Usman and Amir claimed 2 scalp each.
Super CC in reply was restricted to 144 to lose by 27 runs. Prolific Yasser was the only batter to impress with 51 in 17 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours as none other batters could touch the double digits except Bilal Khan (15) and Sibghatullah (16) while Hazrat Bilal contributed 12. Ashfaq grabbed 4 wkts for 16, Fahad and Shani 2 each.
Match # 26: Young Strikers opting to use the track first piled up 148 for 7 in allotted 18 overs on ground # 7 against AEC. Zubair Naseer hit 39 in 34 balls with 3 fours, Tariq Siddiqui 27 in 27 balls, Shahid Lateef runs out for 22 off 14 balls and Yasser Arfat 30 in 18 balls with 4 boundaries. Sajid and Abdulrehman Patel had 2 scalps each.
AEC in response was stranded at 128 for 8 in stipulated 18 overs to lose by 21 runs. After the dismal failure of the top and middle-order, Waqas Tahir coming at # 8 scored unbeaten 37 in 25 balls with 3 fours while Awais made 18 and Sajid 15. Earlier from the top order, Amanat made 13 and Patel 11. Abid grabbed 3 for 32 and Fahad 2.
Match # 27: Markhour XI batted first to get to 158 for 8 in allotted 18 overs on ground # 8 as opponents Bupa CC put them into bat. Farhan made 26 in 17 balls, Shafaqat 27 in 23 balls, Waseem 29 in 18 balls, Tayyab unbeaten 23 and Jibran 19. Shahnawaz Khan and Qasim shared 2 wkts each.
Bupa CC chased the victory target of 159 for 5 in 105 balls to win by 5 wkts with 3 balls to spare. Attaurrehman hit 44 in 31 balls with 2 sixes and 4 fours as he added 51 in 23 balls for the opening stand with Qasim who made 39 in 18 balls with 2 sixes and 5 fours to provide a solid match winning start. Sheraz made unbeaten 28 in 18 balls with 3 fours, Rana Adnan 24 in 16 balls and Shahnawaz Khan 12. Imran took 3 for 18.
Match # 28: Al Saudi XI chose to use the track first against Black Hawks could manage 157 for 8 in allotted 18 overs on Ground # 9. Kashif Shafeeq was the highest run getter with 66 in 38 balls studded with 2 sixes and 8 fours as he stitched valuable 85 in 44 balls for the 2nd wkt with Mar Pathan who made 39 in 21 balls with a six and 6 fours after Nadeem Saad (0) returned early on the 4th ball. Mohammed Farooq made 15. Abdulrafay took 2 wkts.
Black Hawks in chase reached the victory target of 158 for 7 in 100 balls to win by 3 wkts with 8 balls to remain. Rehan stroked 39 in 31 balls with 5 fours, Hamid 30 in 13 balls with a six and 4 fours and Abdulrafay 32 in 31 balls with 4 fours. Anas was unbeaten on 11. Omar Pathan had 2 wkts to his name.
