Jeddah (TN Media News): A condolence gathering in Jeddah was held to honor the late Shakeel Muhammad Khan, the elder brother of veteran journalist and Pakistan Journalists Forum Chairman Amir Muhammad Khan. The event brought together prominent members of the Pakistani community and religious scholars, offering a heartfelt moment of reflection on life and the afterlife.
Message of Reflection from Dr. Qari Abdul Basit
Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Sahibzada Qari Abdul Basit, head of the Dars-e-Quran and Hadith circle, addressed the gathering. He emphasized that every condolence gathering in Jeddah is a reminder that life is temporary and every soul is moving closer to the hereafter.
“Every condolence is a reminder that we are on the path to our graves,” he said. He explained that the Quranic verse Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un is not just a phrase, but a powerful acknowledgment of life’s ultimate reality.
Dr. Basit highlighted that comforting the bereaved is a Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and that righteous deeds are the only companions in the grave. He urged attendees to treat such gatherings as an invitation to self-reflection and to prepare for the hereafter.
Collective Prayers and Spiritual Guidance
The event began with a Quran recitation by Qari Muhammad Asif, and the proceedings were conducted by Maroof Hussain.
Dr. Basit also shared authentic Hadiths and inspiring stories from the life of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He encouraged the audience to focus on deeds that bring peace in the afterlife.
