On 27 June, the Day of Workers of Culture and Art, as well as Magtymguly Pyragy’s Poetry was widely celebrated throughout the country. The Week of Culture-2022 was timed to coincide with this event, which ended with a concert of masters of art under the arches of “Türkmeniň ak öýi”.The celebrations began at the monument to Magtymguly in the city of Mary, where a flower-laying ceremony was held in recognition and admiration for the poetic genius of the outstanding Turkmen poet-philosopher.
The rich content and spiritual message of the Week of Culture corresponds to the building “Türkmeniň ak öýi”, original in terms of architectural embodiment and national decor, where a concert of masters of arts of Turkmenistan took place today, which was the final chord of the events held in Mary.
The musical and literary composition “Sungat toýun tutýar ili türkmeniň”, which opened the concert program, became a magnificent overture of the holiday. The bright joint performance of the artists of the State Drama Theater named after the Great Saparmyrat Turkmenbashy of the Balkan velayat and the State Drama Theater named after Kemine of the Mary velayat, honoured singers and folk groups of the five regions of the country is dedicated to the great power of art.
The highlight of the concert was the folk song “Durnanyň”, performed with the accompaniment of the dance group of the Mary velayat “Altyn asyr”.
The song “Diňe öňe, Türkmenistan!” was dedicated to the Turkmen people and the Fatherland, which is confidently advancing under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov along the path of progress and prosperity.
With great enthusiasm, the audience greeted the performance of bagshy-sazandars and dance groups, which in the composition “Bäş welaýat jem bolanda” reflected the unique style and originality of the performing manner, characteristic of certain regions of Turkmenistan, and together constituting a rich palette of musical national culture.
Replacing each other, popular performers of folk and pop songs, and famous musicians demonstrated their skills. The audience applauded the best choreographic and folk groups in the country.
One of the key moments of the celebration under the arches of “Türkmeniň ak öýi” was the symbolic handover of the baton of the Week of Culture, which, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, will be held in Ashgabat in 2023.
