Youm e Istahsal – 5 August 2022
Embassy of Pakistan Niamey organized a simple but dignified ceremony on Youm-e-Istehsal at the Chancery. Distinguished guests of academia, members of civil society, and journalists including Pakistani community members and officials of this Mission participated in the program. The program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
The messages of the leadership were read to the audience and translated into French. Mr. Alou Basiriou, a distinguished local guest condemned a year-long military siege by Indian occupation forces in India Occupied Kashmir. He stressed to the Indian government to stop brutality in Kashmir and urged them to settle the freedom struggle of the people of Jammu & Kashmir as per United Nations Security Council resolutions and the commitment made by the Indian leadership for their right to self-determination.
The Ambassador of Pakistan highlighted the historical dimensions of the Jammu & Kashmir dispute and lauded the struggle for independence of the Kashmiri people. The continued human rights violations of the innocent at the hand of Indian occupation forces were highlighted. He said that UNSC resolutions clearly mention the right of self-determination through a plebiscite. He said that revocation of Article 370, altering the administrative set-up of a disputed state was a violation of UNSC resolutions.
The occupation authorities have made 8 million people prisoners since 5th August 2019. The demographic change through domicile law by the occupation forces is unacceptable. He stressed upon the international community to compel India the resolution of this long-standing issue as per UN resolutions and the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
