The Shahid Afridi Foundation National Physical Disability T20 Cricket Championship kicked off in thrilling fashion with impressive victories from Multan and Quetta. Held at the Rashid Latif Academy, the tournament is a joint initiative by the Shahid Afridi Foundation and the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA). It highlights the remarkable resilience, sportsmanship, and talent of physically challenged cricketers from across Pakistan.
Quetta Overpowers Karachi in the Opening Clash
In the first match of the day, Quetta squared off against Karachi. Karachi batted first but could only manage 105 runs in 19.5 overs, with Khurshid Ali contributing a spirited 32 runs.
Quetta’s bowlers took control early, with Ali Gajzai delivering an exceptional performance by claiming three key wickets. In response, Quetta chased down the target with ease. Nusratullah played a match-winning knock, scoring a commanding half-century that guided his team to a seven-wicket victory. His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match title.
Multan Cruises Past Hyderabad with Ten-Wicket Win
The second match saw Multan dominate Hyderabad. Hyderabad struggled with the bat and posted 97 runs in 19 overs. Despite some resistance from Babar Ali and Ranjan Ali, Multan’s disciplined bowling attack—led by Zubair Saleem—kept the scoring in check.
In reply, Multan delivered a flawless batting performance. Zaman Khan smashed a brilliant 63 runs, while Muzat Qureshi provided solid support. The team chased the target without losing a single wicket, securing a ten-wicket win. Zaman Khan was named Player of the Match for his explosive innings.

The opening day attracted several respected guests. Senior Journalist Anisur Rehman and Mazhar Awan, President of RCA Karachi Zone Seven, presented the Player of the Match awards to Nusratullah and Zaman Khan.
