Pakistan Christian Welfare Society celebrates Easter at Pakistan Consulate Jeddah

The Pakistan Christian Welfare Society (PCWS) celebrated the Easter festival with great zeal and enthusiasm at Consulate General of Pakistan premises on Saturday. Consul General Pakistan Khalid Majid was the chief guest on the occasion. Other guests were Syed Riaz Bukhari, Tasawwer Choudhry, Kamran Butt, Fahad Aziz, Paster Nadeem Shehzad Taj, Saiman Gil, William, Francis and Patrick Flick Sher.

In his address, Consul General congratulated the Pakistan Christian community living in Jeddah on Easter festival and appreciated the role they are playing for the prosperity and progress of Pakistan’s economy. He also praised their positive attitude in boosting brotherhood not only in Pakistan but also for a universal brotherhood that would foster peace and harmony in the world. He said, the most important message of Easter that I take for myself is “hope”. one should never despair of Allah’s mercy as After every difficult hour, Allah sees a good time. Man must hope for good times. As a Muslims, our belief is that despair is disbelief.

The consul general said I am thankful to Allah for giving me this opportunity and posting in Jeddah. I had a wonderful time among such a wonderful community. I am thankful to Allah Almighty that He considered me worthy to be of service to you people. He said that the message of Jesus is immortal. According to his teaching, there is a need to spread the message of friendship, love and unity. He urged everyone to respect local laws and regulations. He said the consulate is your home. We would be happy if you celebrate your festival here with great discipline.

He expressed Easter wishes and assured the Christian community of full cooperation and support from him and the consulate staff in all consular services. He said, “My biggest wish is that you celebrate the next festival in the new building of the consulate. Two little Zara Sisters presented Khalid Majid and his wife a bouquet of flowers.

Earlier, John Gulzar Chairman PCWS, welcomed all the guests and media persons. He praised the efforts of the members of organizing committee for organizing the event and making it successful. He also praised the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for its excellent policies and job opportunities for Pakistanis. He thanked the Consul General for providing facilities in the Consulate premises. He presented a commemorative shield to Consul General Khalid Majid.

Patrick Flick Sher, Shehzad Taj, William, Francis, Riyaz Bukhari, Tasawwer Chaudhary, Kamran Butt, Fahad Aziz, Fawad Swati and Syed Musrat Khalil also addressed and congratulated Cristian community for the Easter.
