Bangkok, Thailand: The Combaxx 7th Asian Taekwondo Open Championships saw exhilarating action on Sunday as athletes from across Asia competed fiercely in various weight categories. Pakistan emerged as a standout performer, securing an impressive 2 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze medals across both male and female divisions.
In the Male -48kg category, Pakistan’s Ahmed Muzamil earned a well-deserved silver medal, while Qureshi Muhammad Suleman and Ansari claimed bronze medals, marking a strong presence for Pakistan on the podium. Afghanistan’s Tamim Rahmani took the gold in this category.
The Male -55kg division was another hard-fought battle, with Afghanistan’s Akeed Hukmuddin claiming the gold. Pakistan’s Yasir Muhammad secured silver, and Sameer Muhammad along with Akbar Sh Muhammad Muaz added to the medal tally with bronze finishes.
In the Female -44kg category, Pakistan’s Anwar Ayesha made history by winning the gold medal. Habiba Umme secured silver, while Sarwary Manahil and Aslam Safia earned bronze, completing a dominant display for Pakistan on the podium.
