by: Atika Mehboob TN Sport Pakistan:
Saim Ayub is determined to bring a fearless approach to his cricket across all formats while representing Pakistan. As part of the 18-member squad selected for the upcoming three-match Test tour of Australia, the left-hander discussed his batting strategy for the longest format during a media interaction in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

Highlighting the team’s commitment to adopting a fearless approach in Australia, Saim clarified that this doesn’t equate to blindly slogging the ball. He emphasized the importance of giving due respect to good bowlers.

“We will play with a fearless approach in Australia. However, a fearless approach doesn’t mean to slog blindly. Good bowlers should be given respect,” said Saim.

Expressing his ambition to be a specialist player across all three formats, Saim conveyed his desire not to be confined to a particular format but to evolve into a cricket specialist capable of adapting his game to the demands of different formats.

“I don’t want to be considered as a specialist of a particular format. I want to become a cricket specialist, which includes all three formats. I always try to adjust my game according to different formats,” he explained.

The Pakistan squad for the Australia Tests includes Shan Masood (captain), Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wk), Saud Shakeel, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
