Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi addressed the audience, emphasizing that the global cricket community is closely watching Pakistan’s readiness for the event. Naqvi expressed pride in hosting the tournament, calling it a “great honor” for the country. He highlighted the swift renovations of Gaddafi and National Stadiums to ensure a world-class experience for players and fans alike.
The ceremony, set against the backdrop of Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, included appearances from notable figures such as Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, provincial Minister for Sports Faisal Ayub Khokhar, Champions Trophy 2017 winners, and brand ambassador Tim Southee. The event offered a dazzling mix of cricketing excitement and cultural celebration.
The tournament kicks off on February 19 with the opening match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi. The much-anticipated Pakistan vs. India clash will take place on February 23 in Dubai.
