Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Wallan Trading Company, a leading player in the Saudi automotive sector, has signed a strategic agreement with ZEEKR, the global electric mobility technology and solutions brand owned by Geely Automobile Holdings. The partnership will see Wallan Trading Company become an authorized representative and distributor of the ZEEKR brand in the Saudi market.
The announcement was made at a special ceremony hosted by Wallan Trading Company in Riyadh on February 17, 2024. Fahad Al-Wallan, Chairman of Wallan Trading Company, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its potential to benefit Saudi auto enthusiasts, the national and regional motor industry, and the Kingdom’s economy. The event also marked the launch of two of ZEEKR’s latest luxury offerings in the Kingdom: ZEEKR 001 and ZEEKR X.
Aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives and the Saudi Green Strategy, the partnership between Wallan Trading Company and ZEEKR aims to advance the country’s sustainability goals and enhance the local circular economy. Leveraging ZEEKR’s innovative electric mobility technologies and Geely Holding Group’s extensive car manufacturing experience, Wallan Trading Group seeks to deliver quality cars that meet the demands of Saudi customers and are suited to the local climate and terrain.
Cannon Wang, Mena Regional Director at ZEEKR, highlighted Saudi Arabia’s importance as a key market for the brand, citing the Kingdom’s sophisticated market, discerning consumers, and rapidly developing ecosystem of tech innovators. He expressed optimism for the growth of the electric vehicle segment in the Kingdom, driven by Vision 2030’s emphasis on sustainability.
The partnership with ZEEKR is part of Wallan Trading Company’s strategy to expand, increase, and diversify its investment and representative portfolio in the Kingdom.
