Muhammad Nizam Karachi (Sports Reporter): The highly anticipated AKG Premier League (APL) Season 2 cricket tournament begins today, with the opening match between United Thunders and Aziz Damani at the AKG Ground (Garden) in Karachi, scheduled for 1:30 PM.
The tournament will officially be inaugurated by Chairman of AKG, Mukhi Abdul Sultan Khimani, along with committee members Munir Samani and Sabir Khan, at the start of the match. The tournament committee has appointed Mir Afzal Baig, Hamid Ali, Javed Mansoor, and Saleem A. Rahim as convenors for the event.
The defending champions, United Thunders, will be looking to retain their title in this exciting season.
A total of six teams will compete in the tournament, which will run on a league basis starting today. The top three teams will advance to the qualifying phase, and the winners of Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will meet in the Grand Final on March 23rd.
The participating teams include Aziz Damani, Storm Warriors, Super Kings, Friends United, United Thunders, and United Hurricanes.
All matches will be streamed live on Sportics’ YouTube and Facebook Channels.
