Research Centre CAFAG (Bamako). The Ambassador of Pakistan to Niger receives his Honorary Doctorate Degree in a special ceremony organised by (CAFAG) at Niamey, Niger. The ceremony was presided by H.E. Seko Diro Amadou Ministèr of Youth and Sports, Republic of Niger. Ambassador of Pakistan recognized by the (CAFAG) and conferred the honorary Doctorate degree.
It is pertinent to note that for the first time in the history of Niger any Ambassador is given an Honorary Doctorate. The degree is awarded on the basis of engagement with higher education institutions, youth support, promoting higher education and public diplomacy activities in the entire ECOWAS region. Ambassador Ahmed Ali Sirohey was considered the most proactive, people and students friendly Ambassador.
The ceremony was witnessed by various Nigerien dignitaries, Former Ministers, Parliamentarians, the President & Secretary General of CAFAG, the Dean and professors of the Department of Science & Technology, Abdou Mamouni University, the Registrar Dosso University, members of civil society, the head of humanitarian organizations, journalist community and Pakistani community-based in Niger.
Prof. Dr. Diarro, Secretary General CAFAG appreciated the role of the Ambassador of Pakistan who has made undeniable effort and impact in community social responsibilities and touching lives through public diplomacy.
He also highlighted the active role of the Ambassador in the education sector i.e. execution of 100 international and 100 domestic scholarships to Niger, offering lectures on various topics in the universities, provision of laboratory equipment, the opening of Pakistan Book Corner in 6 Universities, renovation of libraries, supporting University Sports, provisions of appreciation certificate and medals, organisation of Best Teacher and Best Professor award ceremonies, support in various sports and cultural program, sponsorship to English club, provision of teachers’ salaries at Kongou Village and initiative of the internship program for Niger at Pakistan Embassy are the few famous projects.
The Ambassador of Pakistan Mr. Ahmed Ali Sirohey thanked the Federal Minister, President and the management of CAFAG for the award of an honorary Doctorate degree. He lauded the interlocutors, government dignitaries, academia, and Pakistani community members for organising a beautiful ceremony.
He reiterated the affirmation of historical bonds of fraternity & amity between the peoples of Pakistan & Niger. He assured that Pakistan would keep its support continued for the brotherly people of the Republic of Niger.
