The Kingdom of Bahrain has been granted the prestigious status of guest country at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025, which will take place from June 18–21. This announcement highlights the growing economic and strategic collaboration between Russia and Bahrain, as both countries continue to deepen partnerships in key sectors such as energy, high technology, logistics, and tourism.
According to Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, the two nations have significantly enhanced their economic relations over the years, with both sides actively launching joint projects across various industries. “SPIEF serves as a vital platform for dialogue between governments, businesses, and experts, and Bahrain’s status as guest country in 2025 will create new avenues to expand trade and foster closer ties,” Kobyakov stated.
Ahmed Al-Saati, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Russia, emphasized that Bahrain views SPIEF as a key opportunity to present its business, cultural, and tourism offerings to a Russian audience. “We anticipate the participation of high-profile Bahraini officials and leading companies, and we are confident this will help strengthen Bahrain’s presence in Russia,” said Al-Saati.
The Bahrain national pavilion will be the focal point at SPIEF 2025, offering a platform for showcasing the Kingdom’s investment potential, fostering new business connections, and facilitating knowledge exchange in various sectors. It is expected to draw significant attention from industry professionals, especially in tourism and cultural exchange areas.
SPIEF, organized by the Roscongress Foundation, is renowned for facilitating global discussions on economic and development issues. The Foundation, established in 2007, organizes a wide range of international events and fosters cooperation among over 200 economic partners worldwide, ensuring high-level participation from countries across the globe.
With Bahrain’s participation as guest country, SPIEF 2025 is set to provide a dynamic platform for enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new growth opportunities between Bahrain and Russia.
