Can Pakistan Jump back in the second ODI?

Baber's team need to bounce to keep the series alive!

The second ODI will be played today and after the 1st ODI which Australia won in style by 88 runs and not giving the host the chance to take the advantage of their home ground and crowd.  Even after having many seniors players not playing for them and they preferred to play IPL and few out of the tour due to injuries and those in the squad, has also been injured but still, as Pakistan ex-cricketer put it that Australian B team is even more stronger for Pakistan.

So how so we see today’s ODI, do we expect Pakistan to bounce back?

In Australian camp, after the COVID-19 cases the concerns are they need to have the minimum threshold of players (13) required to continue the tour and Auston Agar’s positive result before the 1st ODI raised fears of further absences but the good news is that on Wednesday, all players were tested negative.

The pressure is building up around the Pakistan camp as they need to win the games in order to make sure they qualify for the 2023 World-Cup and incase they don’t they will have to go through another route to qualify which Pakistan may not prefer.

Pakistan are expecting that Shaheen Afridi should return and he will replace Hassan Ali, who after the World-Cup has not been in the form although he has been given many chances but this would be the right time to give another youngster a chance as this will give experience for the upcoming World-Cup.

So should Pakistan make we changes in the team other than Shaheen, knowing how Babar works, he will only go with 1 change and depend on the team to change the results to level the series and let the 3rd ODI decide the outcome of the series.

Pakistan (possible): 1 Fakhar Zaman 2 Imam-ul-Haq 3 Babar Azam (capt) 4 Mohammad Rizwan (wk) 5 Saud Shakeel 6 Iftikhar Ahmed 7 Khushdil Shah 8 Mohammad Wasim Jnr 9 Haris Rauf 10 Zahid Mahmood 11 Shaheen Afridi
For Australia, it’s a case of play who’s available at the moment, with the side just about able to field an XI.
Australia: 1 Aaron Finch (capt) 2 Travis Head 3 Ben McDermott 4 Marnus Labuschagne 5 Marcus Stoinis, 6 Cameron Green 7 Alex Carey (wk) 8 Sean Abbott 9 Nathan Ellis 10 Adam Zampa 11 Mitchell Swepson.
