Pakistan Announces Squad for Physical Disability Champions Trophy 2025 in Colombo.

The Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA) has officially announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming 2025 Physical Disability Champions Trophy, to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from January 12 to January 21, 2025.

The squad was revealed by PPDCA General Secretary Amiruddin Ansari during a press briefing at DHA Sports Club Moin Khan Cricket Academy.

Team Leadership and Selection

  • Captain: Abdullah Ijaz

  • Vice-Captain: Ghulam Muhammad

Ansari shared that the final selection was challenging due to the high level of talent at the domestic level. The squad was finalized following a training and fitness camp at Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA), overseen by Head Coach Sabih Azhar and selectors Rafey Hashmi and Rao Javaid.

Seven players from the 2019 series have been retained, while nine promising talents have been newly selected.

Coach Azhar expressed full confidence in the squad, citing a strong mix of experience and emerging talent.

 Tournament Details

The team will depart for Sri Lanka on January 9. Pakistan’s first match is scheduled against India on January 12, setting up a thrilling start to the competition.

The PPDCA has extended its best wishes to the squad, expressing hope that the team will bring pride to the nation through their performance.
