Karachi – The Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA) has announced the 16-member squad for the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Team, set to compete in the 2025 Physical Disability Champions Trophy in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The tournament will take place from January 12 to January 21, 2025.
The squad announcement was made by General Secretary of PPDCA, Amiruddin Ansari, on Wednesday at the DHA Sports Club Moin Khan Cricket Academy. He confirmed that Abdullah Ijaz will captain the team, with Ghulam Muhammad appointed as the vice-captain.
Speaking about the selection process, Ansari emphasized the challenging nature of choosing the final squad. “The selection process was very difficult due to the exceptional talent among the players, many of whom performed admirably at the domestic level. The selection was done after a thorough training and fitness camp held at Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA), supervised by Head Coach Sabih Azhar, alongside Rafey Hashmi and Rao Javaid of the selection committee,” Ansari explained.
The squad for the tournament consists of seven players retained from the Physical Disability Series of 2019, and nine new, talented players who impressed during the recent camp. The full squad includes:
Abdullah Ijaz (Captain), Ghulam Muhammad (Vice-Captain), Muhammad Arsalan, Saifullah, Matloob Qureshi, Huzaifa Khan, Muhammad Noman, Shahid Watto, Muhammad Shahzad, Hamza Hameed, Abdul Khaliq, Zubair Saleem, Mominullah, Abdul Basit, Hammad Shoukat, Waqif Shah.
Head Coach Sabih Azhar expressed confidence in the squad, stating that the team is well-balanced and capable of winning the prestigious tournament. “We have a mix of experienced and new talent, and I’m confident that we have what it takes to succeed in the Champions Trophy,” said Azhar.

The Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Team is scheduled to depart for Sri Lanka on January 9. Their first match in the tournament will be against India on January 12, 2025, setting the stage for an exciting competition in Colombo.
