Pakistani Investors Forum Announces New Annual Slogan: “Let’s Make Pakistan Greater

Report by Noorulhassan Gujjar Jeddah: The Pakistani Investors Forum has unveiled its new annual slogan for the year, “Let’s Make Pakistan Greater.” The announcement was made during the forum’s annual event held in Jeddah, which saw the attendance of notable figures including Consul General Khalid Majid, Commercial Counselor Saadia Khan, former and current forum officials, members, and influential community leaders.

The event was hosted by Chaudhry Zaheer Ahmed, and during his address, the forum’s president, Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood, emphasized the pivotal role of overseas Pakistanis in strengthening the nation’s economy. He urged every overseas Pakistani to contribute at least $370 in monthly foreign remittances, a move he believed would significantly bolster Pakistan’s economic position and help alleviate the country’s mounting debts. Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood called on the community to unite in contributing to the nation’s progress.

In his speech, Chaudhry Shafqat Mehmood also highlighted the forum’s productive year, mentioning successful meetings with the Saudi Chamber of Commerce and other key institutions aimed at supporting Pakistani investors. These initiatives, he noted, had garnered considerable backing. He revealed that the forum was poised to make significant strides in the health sector, backed by Saudi organizations. Additionally, he stated that Saudi Arabia remained the leading source of remittances to Pakistan, and suggested that if overseas Pakistanis sent $300 through formal banking channels, Pakistan’s economy would witness substantial growth.

Commercial Counselor Saadia Khan commended the forum’s work, emphasizing that it not only met but exceeded expectations. She also announced a three-day exhibition of Pakistani products in Jeddah, scheduled for early February. The exhibition, which will feature participation from 130 Pakistani companies, aims to further strengthen trade ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Khalid Majid, Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah, urged Pakistani investors to prioritize the country’s development above political differences. He reassured attendees that the consulate would fully support the Investors Forum and revealed that a dedicated office for the forum would be provided in the consulate’s new building.

The event also included speeches from Press Counselor Chaudhry Irfan, Faisal Tahir Khan, and founding members of the forum, Naqab Khan and Salman Arain. They shared their investment experiences and encouraged fellow Pakistani investors to leverage their expertise and contribute to the economic growth of their homeland.

This event marked another milestone in the ongoing efforts of the Pakistani Investors Forum to enhance economic cooperation and foster strong ties between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
