On March 16th, the 15th National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) Corporate Social Responsibility Summit was held in Karachi, Pakistan, where the Pakistan Matiari-Lahore Transmission Company (private) Limited (PMLTC) was awarded the “2023 Corporate Social Responsibility Award”.

The promotional video showcasing PMLTC’s social responsibility initiatives was well received by the audience at the ceremony. The award recognized PMLTC’s outstanding contributions to the local community, commending the company’s efforts in transmitting stable, high-quality, and clean electricity in Pakistan while maintaining a commitment to environmental protection and social welfare.

They look forward to PMLTC’s continued positive contributions in the future.

PMLTC has always actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibility, adhering to the concept of green, low-carbon and sustainable development. During the first year of the Matiari-Lahore ±660kV HVDC Project’s operation, the cumulative amount of electricity transmitted was approximately 12.7 billion kilowatt hours.

During the construction and operation of the project, PMLTC planted more than 53,000 trees alongside local government, hospitals, schools, and roads in seven cities and regions of Punjab Province.

Adeel Ejaz Warriach from The Water Experts (Pvt.) Ltd. expressed his support after reviewing PMLTC’s annual social responsibility report, stating that the company adheres to the concept of sustainable development, actively responds to the government’s call for a green and clean Pakistan, adopts HVDC transmission technology to transmit clean electricity, reasonably selects transmission routes, and plants trees in the local area, effectively reducing carbon emissions.

These initiatives will benefit the people of Pakistan.

After the catastrophic flood in Pakistan in 2022, PMLTC actively provided humanitarian aid, donating $200,000 to the Pakistani government.

At the same time, the company provided food relief packages for villagers in the affected areas and provided medicine and medical services to over 1,354 affected individuals in the Matiari area of Sindh Province, demonstrating the responsibility and commitment of Chinese-funded enterprises through practical actions.

This award fully reflects the recognition of PMLTC’s positive actions in supporting economic and social development, protecting the environment, assisting the impoverished, and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.

PMLTC will continue to promote the localization strategy, making greater contributions to enhancing friendship and achieving common prosperity and development between China and Pakistan.
