Political situation moves the ODI to Lahore from Pindi!

As the teams arrive in Lahore for the 3rd test match where they have come to know that those players who are part of the ODI and T20I, they will be playing the remaining matches in Lahore and not in Pindi as per the previous schedule.

The Australians are currently on their first tour to Pakistan after 24 years of declined due to security fears but so far there have not been any serious threats to the team since their arrival.

The reason for the changes in the grounds from Pindi to Lahore for the ODI is typically political as government are planned to have rallies nearby the captain in the coming days and weeks.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Interior Minister said “The matches are being shifted to Lahore because of political activities in the capital”, Imran Khan prime minister who is set to face a no-confidence vote next week.

The rallies where expected to be held is only 2KM away from the hotels where teams were going to be staying and in the interest of the game, it would be better to keep the visitors and the cricket away from these activities.

The three ODIs will start from March 29, 31 and April 2 and at the moment dates are not expected to be changed due to these political activities.
