These deals, announced during the visit of former President Donald Trump to the Kingdom, bring ACWA Power’s total partnerships with US firms to over USD 6 billion.
The agreements aim to deepen Saudi-US cooperation in the energy sector, in alignment with Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s net-zero emissions target by 2060. ACWA Power Vice Chairman Raad Al-Saady emphasized that the partnerships are a strategic investment in Saudi Arabia’s future, leveraging American expertise to advance renewable energy and economic diversification.
Key collaborations include:
GE Vernova: Innovation testing in gas turbine and transmission technologies.
Baker Hughes: Development of green hydrogen production solutions.
KBR: Application of ammonia technologies and engineering services in large-scale projects.
Nextracker: Implementation of advanced solar tracking systems to enhance photovoltaic efficiency.
Energy Recovery: Joint research into energy-saving technologies for seawater desalination.
These partnerships also explore local manufacturing potential and expanded research collaboration with top US universities including MIT, Yale, and UCLA.
The agreements reinforce ACWA Power’s commitment to sustainable development, innovation, and fostering a robust ecosystem in clean energy across Saudi Arabia and beyond.
