Karachi (Sports Reporter): Strom Warriors triumphed over the Super Kings by 4 wickets in a thrilling Round 5 match of the AKG Premier League Season 2 Cricket Tournament, held at the iconic Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground. This victory marked their fourth win in five matches, pushing them to the top of the points table with 8 points and securing first position in the qualifiers.

Super Kings, batting first, posted a competitive total of 173 runs after losing 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Imran Mehbood played a key role, scoring 42 runs off 29 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes. Amin Akbar Ali contributed 29 runs off 21 balls, while Shahbaz Karim and Khurram Shehzad added 27 and 22 runs, respectively. Captain Hamid Ali was the standout bowler for his side, claiming 2 wickets for 28 runs. Asad Ali Khowaja, Naseeb Noor Ali, Rahim Ali, and Sannan Noor all picked up one wicket each.

In response, Strom Warriors chased down the target of 177 runs, scoring 177/6 to seal the win. Opener Naseeb Noor Ali was the star, scoring 56 runs off 42 balls, including 8 boundaries, and was instrumental in the chase. Amir Hayyat supported him well with 45 runs off 33 balls, hitting 2 fours and 3 sixes. The opening partnership between the two was a crucial 99-run stand. Sannan Noor contributed a quick 22 runs off 13 balls, including 2 fours and a six.

Despite Amin Akbar Ali’s impressive bowling performance for Super Kings, where he took 3 wickets for 38 runs, Strom Warriors managed to reach the target. Sabir Khan and Muhammad Isa also took one wicket each for Super Kings.

At the conclusion of the match, the Chief Guest, Chairman of UC 4 Jinnah Town, Saleem Nadir, presented the Man of the Match award to Naseeb Noor Ali for his all-round performance, scoring 56 runs and taking 1 wicket.
