RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: The Arab Open University (AOU) has entered into a strategic partnership with global technology giant Huawei Technologies, signing a memorandum of understanding to deliver advanced technical training and services to its students and staff.
The agreement, signed at Huawei’s headquarters in China, aims to align educational outcomes with the evolving demands of the labor market by providing access to the internationally recognized Huawei Academy. Students and staff will benefit from a wide range of accredited courses and certification programs designed to enhance their skills in modern and emerging technologies.
A key component of the partnership includes the establishment of state-of-the-art technology labs in AOU campuses, creating practical learning environments that expose students to the latest innovations in the field. The initiative also emphasizes inclusivity, with specific support for students with hearing impairments through tailored technological solutions.
Dr. Ali Alshahrani, President of AOU, highlighted the significance of the collaboration in advancing the university’s vision. “This partnership with Huawei is a strategic move that supports our commitment to creating a dynamic educational environment in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Huawei Executive Vice President Mr. Wu Han joined Dr. Alshahrani at the signing ceremony, underscoring the mutual commitment to education, innovation, and community empowerment.
