by: Shaheen javed TN Media News: In his Friday sermon at the Prophet’s Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi), Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Suleiman Al-Muhanna, Imam and Khateeb of the sacred mosque, delivered a profound message on the importance of sincere devotion, steadfastness on the Straight Path, and the direct relationship between the servant and his Lord.
Sheikh Al-Muhanna began by highlighting that the truly guided and successful individual is one who walks firmly upon the path of righteousness, seeking nearness to Allah without deviation. “He remains unwavering, walking with the light of his Lord, guided by his righteous deeds,” the Imam said.
He underscored that the most beloved acts to Allah are those He has made obligatory. “The highest form of worship is fulfilling what Allah has mandated, with sincerity in worship and pure devotion in faith,” Sheikh Al-Muhanna affirmed.
The Imam further explained that after fulfilling obligatory duties, a servant draws even nearer to Allah through voluntary acts of worship, noble character, and humility. “He follows the path of the righteous, seeking refuge in Allah during times of weakness and asking for steadfastness and guidance. Allah, in His mercy, will protect and guide him,” he said.
Sheikh Al-Muhanna elaborated on the joy and contentment that arise from closeness to Allah. “The closer the servant is to his Lord, the greater his joy in worship. His soul rejoices in nearness to Allah, and at the time of death, he will be greeted with glad tidings of peace, comfort, and divine provision,” he stated.
Emphasizing Allah’s boundless mercy, he reassured the faithful that the doors of repentance are always open. “Even if a person strays, Allah allows them to return. He draws His servants close and facilitates the path for them. His mercy is vast for those who return in faith and righteous action.”
Sheikh Al-Muhanna warned against placing intermediaries between oneself and Allah. “Islam does not permit seeking help through the dead or turning to graves and idols. Allah calls upon His servants to turn to Him directly. The gates of divine mercy are open to the humble,” he reminded worshippers.
In conclusion, the Imam reaffirmed that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) conveyed the final and clear message to all of humanity. “No one can attain closeness to Allah except through what He has legislated and what the Prophet has taught. Every other path is invalid and rejected,” Sheikh Al-Muhanna said.
The sermon served as a powerful reminder to Muslims around the world to remain committed to sincere worship, uphold righteous deeds, and maintain a direct and humble connection with their Creator.
