by: Muhammad Nizam TN Media News: The Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Mr. Jameel Ahmad, has lauded the outstanding international performance of the national physically disabled (PD) cricketers, calling it impressive and commendable. He emphasized that Pakistan, as the founding nation of PD cricket, holds a place of pride and that its PD cricketers deserve the same recognition and privileges as other national cricketers.
Mr. Ahmad made these remarks during a key meeting held yesterday with a two-member delegation of the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA), which included senior officials Imran Balwani and Shakeel Sharif. The meeting focused on the development of PD cricket in Pakistan and the association’s future plans.
The delegation provided a comprehensive briefing on the association’s activities, including its international engagements, support received from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), participation in the Asia Cup, and preparations for the upcoming national championship next month.
Expressing great appreciation for the efforts and achievements of the national PD team, Governor Jameel Ahmad stated, “It is a matter of national honor that Pakistan is the founder of PD cricket. Our cricketers have consistently demonstrated resilience, talent, and dedication on the global stage. They are a source of pride for the entire country.”
He further acknowledged the contributions of regional heads and officials of the PPDCA and assured the delegation of the State Bank’s full support for their future initiatives. “We will ensure that physically disabled cricketers are extended complete backing at all levels, and receive the facilities and encouragement they rightfully deserve,” he said.
During the meeting, the PPDCA delegation also presented a commemorative shield to Governor Jameel Ahmad in recognition of his support and encouragement for the development of PD cricket in Pakistan.
The meeting concluded on a note of optimism, with a shared commitment to advancing inclusive sports and promoting Pakistan’s positive image through the remarkable achievements of its physically disabled athletes.
