South Africa Defeat Afghanistan by 107 Runs in Champions Trophy 2025.

by TN Media News Karachi: South Africa triumphed over Afghanistan by 107 runs in the third match of the Champions Trophy 2025 at the National Stadium in Karachi. The victory was built on an impressive all-round performance, with Ryan Rickelton’s brilliant century and Kagiso Rabada’s three-wicket haul leading the charge.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, South Africa posted a formidable total of 315/6 in their 50 overs. Rickelton anchored the innings with a sublime 100, while captain Temba Bavuma, Rassie van der Dussen, and Aiden Markram all contributed valuable half-centuries. Although Afghanistan had brief moments of success with the ball, they struggled to maintain pressure against a dominant South African batting unit.

In response, Afghanistan’s chase faltered early as they lost wickets regularly. Rahmat Shah stood out with a fighting 90, but the Afghan batting line-up could not keep up with the required run rate. Kagiso Rabada led the bowling charge for South Africa, claiming three wickets to seal the win for his side.

Despite a valiant effort from Shah, Afghanistan were ultimately bowled out for 208, handing South Africa a comfortable victory by 107 runs. This result puts Temba Bavuma’s side in a strong position in the tournament as they look to build on their commanding performance.
