by: Shaheen Javed TN Media News: A grand flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh to mark the Day of Appreciation and express unwavering solidarity with the Pakistan Army. The event drew a large number of participants, including members of the Pakistani community, diplomatic staff, officers from the army, navy and air force stationed in Saudi Arabia, as well as Pakistani youth.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, presided over the ceremony and paid rich tribute to the valor and sacrifices of the Pakistani armed forces. In his address, he stated, “We are proud of our army, and today we have once again demonstrated to the world that Pakistan is a dignified and self-reliant nation.”
Highlighting recent hostilities, the ambassador recalled the Pahalgam incident and strongly condemned the enemy’s aggression following the rejection of its proposal for an impartial investigation. “The enemy launched an unprovoked attack that martyred innocent civilians, including a six-year-old child. In a decisive response under Operation Banyan Marsus, Pakistan’s armed forces shot down six enemy aircraft and successfully targeted their military bases,” he stated.
Ambassador Farooq emphasized that India’s attempts to impose its dominance in the region were effectively thwarted by the combined resolve of the Pakistani leadership, military, and the nation. “The message is clear: the people of Pakistan stand united in the face of adversity and possess the strength to respond to aggression with determination and dignity,” he added.
He further lauded Pakistan’s political and military leadership for their courageous and professional decision-making during critical times. “We pay tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the defense of our beloved homeland,” the ambassador remarked solemnly.
Touching on bilateral relations, the ambassador noted the enduring and deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. “Pakistan is grateful to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the people of Saudi Arabia for their steadfast support during challenging times. Our historic relationship continues to grow stronger with each passing day.”
The event also featured the release of a national anthem associated with Operation Banyan Marsus, along with live musical performances that evoked patriotic fervor and celebrated the enduring love for Pakistan.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge of unity, resilience, and gratitude for the sacrifices made by the country’s defenders.
