The Consulate General of Pakistan in Jeddah marked Pakistan Day with a ceremonial flag-raising event. The national anthem played as the Pakistani flag was hoisted, with a large number of community members in attendance.

Messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read aloud, commemorating the historical significance of March 23rd.

A Day to Honor Unity and Sacrifice:

In his address, Consul General Khalid Majid emphasized the meaning of the day. He reflected on the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s founding fathers to secure a homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

He highlighted the values of unity, faith, and discipline as championed by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. These principles, he said, remain central to the nation’s identity and development.

Strengthening Pakistan Saudi Ties

The Consul General praised the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, rooted in mutual respect and shared values. He acknowledged the contributions of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, especially their role in economic development and bilateral relations.

Community Participation and Cultural Pride:

The event saw participation from a wide cross-section of the Pakistani diaspora, including representatives from ethnic media.

March 23 marks the anniversary of the 1940 Lahore Resolution, a landmark moment in the history of Pakistan. The resolution declared that Muslims in India were a distinct nation and called for the creation of a separate homeland—leading to the foundation of Pakistan in 1947.

A Prayer for Peace and Prosperity:

The ceremony concluded with prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity for both Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah. Attendees left the event with a sense of national pride and renewed commitment to the ideals on which the nation was founded.
