Hyderabad, January 28, 2025 — AIMS Cricket Club emerged victorious in the highly competitive All Sindh Hayat High Speed Cricket League (Season Five) with a thrilling 37-run win over La Roche Cricket Club Karachi in the final, held at the Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam Cricket Ground.
A stellar performance from AIMS Cricket Club saw them post a total of 168 runs for the loss of five wickets after being asked to bat first. Daniyal Rajput played a pivotal role, scoring 72 runs off 59 balls, including four boundaries and four sixes. Raheel Qureshi also made a valuable contribution with 36 runs, supported by one four and two sixes. Inamul Haque was the standout bowler for La Roche, claiming four wickets.
In response, La Roche Cricket Club could only manage 131 runs. SM Fahad was the top scorer for his team, contributing 40 runs off 31 balls with the help of five fours and one six. Hanan Achakzai followed with 34 runs, while Ali Hassan and Ibtisam Sheikh added 21 and 3 runs, respectively. Despite their efforts, they fell short of the target. Babar Arain and Majid Asghar were the standout bowlers for AIMS, claiming one wicket each.
Daniyal Rajput was named the Man of the Match for his all-around performance, which included his crucial innings and contributions in the field.
The awards ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of guests, including the special guest Rawal Sharjeel Memon, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zainul Abideen Memon, former first-class cricketer Adnan Taj, and other local dignitaries. Memon praised the tournament’s organization, commending the efforts to bring out the best young talent from across Sindh. He also pledged to continue supporting sports activities in Tando Jam and surrounding areas.
SM Fahad of La Roche Cricket Club was awarded the title of Emerging Cricketer for his impressive performance throughout the tournament, scoring 153 runs and making 9 key dismissals as a wicketkeeper. He was also named the Best Wicketkeeper of the league. Other award winners included Majid Asghar, named the Best Bowler with 14 wickets, Ibtisam Sheikh as the Player of the Tournament with 13 wickets and 149 runs, and Ali Hassan, who earned the title of Best Batsman with 193 runs.
Organizing Secretary SM Nadeem expressed gratitude to all sponsors and supporters, including High Speed Private Limited, Hayat School Management, Dr. Aman Akbar USA, and the Sindh Sports Department, for their invaluable contributions in making the event a success. He also emphasized the event’s goal of discovering new talent from across Sindh and providing quality, competitive cricket opportunities for local clubs. Nadeem hinted at expanding the tournament in future seasons to include more teams and further enhance the level of competition.
