The Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Mr. Khalid Majid, hosted a distinguished dinner at Pakistan House, honoring three of Pakistan’s most celebrated personalities: Dr. Ata-ur-Rehman, Shahid Afridi, and Arshad Nadeem.

The banquet brought together a diverse audience of academics, sports enthusiasts, and community members. Notable guests included Professor Donal Bradley, President of NEOM Education, Research & Innovation Foundation, and Professor Michael Buerman, Chairman of the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) at KAUST, along with several KAUST faculty members.

Dr. Ata-ur-Rehman spoke on the growing academic ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, stressing the need for investment in advanced technologies to keep pace with global innovation.

Cricket legend Shahid Afridi and Olympic javelin gold medalist Arshad Nadeem shared their personal stories of perseverance. They urged young people to stay focused, work hard, and believe in their dreams.

Professor Bradley highlighted NEOM as a futuristic hub for innovation. He praised the Saudi government’s efforts in promoting technology and research, especially through initiatives like the Winter Enrichment Program.
