PCB Extends Support and Admiration
Junaid Zia, General Manager Domestic at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), expressed heartfelt support for the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Team as they prepare for the Physical Disability Champions Trophy in Colombo, Sri Lanka, starting January 12, 2025.
Zia visited the team’s training camp at Rashid Latif Academy in Gulberg, Karachi, and praised their passion and performance.

Global Recognition and Inspiration
Zia commended the players’ unwavering determination and stated that he was personally inspired by their courage and skill. He also thanked PPDCA General Secretary Amiruddin Ansari for the invitation and praised the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA) for introducing the sport to the international arena.

Confidence in Coaching and Preparation
The team is being trained by Head Coach Sabih Azhar, Rafey Hashmi, and Rao Javed, all of whom have played a vital role in shaping the squad for the upcoming tournament. Zia expressed confidence that under their guidance, the team would deliver a strong performance and aim for the title.
Recognition of PPDCA’s Global Contribution
Amiruddin Ansari, General Secretary of the PPDCA, thanked Zia for his support and visit. He highlighted the growing reputation of disability cricket as one of Pakistan’s success stories on the global stage. Ansari called on the PCB to take full ownership and continue leading efforts to promote the sport, as other boards have done in India and England.
