Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — As anticipation builds for LEAP 2025 in Riyadh, Cisco has revealed key findings from its latest AI Readiness Index, shedding light on the current AI landscape in Saudi Arabia. The report underscores the growing urgency for businesses to implement AI solutions, yet highlights several challenges they face in maximizing AI potential.
According to Cisco’s findings, 72% of organizations in Saudi Arabia have established clear strategies to deploy AI-powered solutions. However, businesses are encountering significant barriers in fully leveraging AI, despite mounting investments. 50% of companies are dedicating between 10-30% of their IT budgets to AI initiatives, with hopes of improving system efficiency, innovation, and customer experience. Despite these investments, many report that AI returns have not yet met expectations.
A sense of urgency prevails, with 60% of companies stating they have 12 months to demonstrate tangible AI results or risk facing negative impacts. Despite these pressures, 31% of organizations report they lack the necessary infrastructure, particularly GPUs, to support current and future AI demands.
The AI Readiness Index, based on a survey of nearly 8,000 senior business leaders from 30 global markets, also revealed concerns about talent shortages. 39% of organizations in KSA indicate a lack of in-house expertise for effective AI deployment, and only 46% believe their workforce is adequately prepared for the full scope of AI integration.
In response to these findings, Salman Faqeeh, Managing Director of Cisco Saudi Arabia, remarked, “Saudi Arabia is at the forefront of embracing AI as a driver of digital transformation. Cisco is committed to helping organizations harness the full potential of AI, supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.”
