India PD Defeats Pakistan PD by 5 Wickets in PD Champions Trophy 2025.

by: Mohammad Nizam TN Sports News: In a thrilling encounter at the PD Champions Trophy 2025, India PD secured a dominant 5-wicket victory over Pakistan PD, handing their neighbors a second consecutive defeat in the tournament. The match, held at the BOI Cricket Ground in Colombo, saw Pakistan PD captain Abdullah Ijaz win the toss and opt to bat first.

Pakistan PD managed to score 138 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Opening batsman and wicketkeeper Saifullah played a key role in his team’s innings, scoring 58 runs off 51 balls, which included 7 fours and 1 six. Mohammad Noman supported his opening partner with an unbeaten 45 runs off 43 balls, hitting 1 six and 3 fours. Ghulam Muhammad contributed 13 runs with the help of 3 fours.

On the bowling front, India PD’s Jithandra Envi was the standout performer, claiming 3 wickets for just 25 runs. Narendra Mungore also added to the pressure, taking 1 wicket for 26 runs.

In response, India PD chased down the target of 139 runs with ease, reaching 142 for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs. Rajesh Kumar’s explosive 76 runs off 52 balls, which featured 10 fours and 1 six, anchored the Indian chase. Nikhil Minhas contributed with a steady 17 runs, including 2 fours, while captain Vikrant Kenny added 12 runs with 1 four.

Pakistan PD’s bowlers put up a spirited effort, with Ghulam Muhammad and Waqif Shah both claiming 2 wickets for 15 and 23 runs respectively. Mohammad Noman also took 1 wicket for 21 runs, but it wasn’t enough to stop India from completing the chase.

Rajesh Kumar’s match-winning performance earned him the Man of the Match award for his brilliant batting display.

With this victory, India PD remains unbeaten in the tournament, having won all four of their matches and accumulating 8 points. England PD follows closely with 6 points from 3 wins out of 4 matches, while Pakistan PD has 2 points from 1 win. Host nation Sri Lanka has yet to register a win in the tournament.

Looking ahead, Pakistan PD faces a must-win situation in their next two matches against England and Sri Lanka. They will need to win both to stay alive in the tournament, while India PD’s clash with England could determine the finalists. If India defeats England, both England and Pakistan will have to rely on their net run rate to make it to the final.
