The Physical Disability Champions Trophy is set to begin tomorrow (Sunday) at the BOI Cricket Ground in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Teams from four nations will participate in this landmark tournament, which is expected to boost the global profile of disability cricket.

In a pre-tournament press conference held Saturday, Amiruddin Ansari, Team Manager of the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA), praised the event’s significance.
“Pakistan has led the way in disability cricket. This tournament opens new paths for international recognition,” Ansari stated.
He also thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for its steadfast support, which has played a key role in advancing the sport.
Captain and PPDCA President Share Their Views:
Abdullah Ijaz, captain of the Pakistan team, expressed confidence in his squad’s preparation.
“We’re ready and hopeful. The team is united and motivated,” he said, ahead of their clash with India.
Imran Balwani, President of PPDCA, also offered his full support to the national team. He emphasized the broader impact of the tournament on disability sports, describing it as a step forward in global awareness and inclusion.
